PULSE DRESS CODE POLICY

To maintain a safe, professional, and focused environment in all classes and rehearsals, dancers are required to follow the dress code outlined below. Proper attire supports both movement and instruction, and helps ensure consistency, and discipline across all programs.

READY SET DANCE UNIFORM – Recreational Classes

Girls

  • Shoes: Black or tan jazz shoes and any style tap shoe

  • Apparel: Any color leotard, tights or leggings

    Hair: Pulled back from face

Boys

  • Shoes: Black or tan jazz shoes and any style tap shoe

  • Apparel: comfortable shorts or fitted pants, t-shirt

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

Ready Set Ballet/Tap Combo – Recreational Classes

Girls

  • Shoes: Ballet Slippers and Tap Shoes

    Apparel: Leotard- any color. Tights-Pink or Nude

    Hair: Classical ballet bun

Boys

  • Shoes: Ballet shoes and any style tap shoe

  • Apparel: comfortable shorts or fitted pants, t-shirt

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

BALLET UNIFORMS – Recreational Classes

Girls

  • Shoes: Pink split ballet slippers (Capezio or Bloch preferred)

    Apparel: Leotard- Pink or Black. Tights-Pink or Nude

    Hair: Classical ballet bun

Boys

  • Shoes: Black or white ballet slippers (Capezio or Bloch Preferred)

  • Apparel: Black shorts or fitted pants, black or white fitted t-shirt, black socks

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

JAZZ UNIFORMS – Recreational Classes

Girls

  • Shoes: Tan or skin-toned leather jazz shoes (Capezio or Bloch Preferred)

  • Apparel: Fitted dancewear of choice (e.g., fitted shorts, leggings, tank top, bodysuit, fitted cami)

    • No jeans, dresses, or skirts in class

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

Boys

  • Shoes: Black leather jazz shoes (Capezio or Bloch Preferred)

  • Apparel: Athletic wear of choice

    • No jeans in class

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

TAP UNIFORMS – Recreational Classes

Girls

  • Shoes: Black tap shoes (Bloch Preferred)

    Apparel: Fitted dancewear of choice (shorts/leggings/tank/bodysuit/cami)

    • No jeans, dresses, or skirts in class

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

Boys

  • Shoes: Black tap shoes (Bloch Preferred)

  • Apparel: Athletic wear of choice

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

LYRICAL / CONTEMPORARY UNIFORMS – Recreational Classes

Girls

  • Shoes: Bare feet or turners

  • Apparel: Fitted dancewear of choice (shorts/leggings/tank/bodysuit/cami)

    • No jeans, dresses, or skirts in class

    • Tights not required

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

Boys

  • Shoes: Bare feet or turners

  • Apparel: Athletic wear of choice

    • No jeans

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

HIP HOP UNIFORMS – Recreational Classes

  • Shoes: Clean indoor running shoes or high tops of choice

  • Apparel: Comfortable movement apparel (sweatpants, sweat shorts, leggings)

    • No jeans, dresses, or skirts in class

  • Hair: Pulled back from face

Company Team Classes and rehearsals

  • Shoes: Appropriate shoes for the dance style

  • Apparel: All Black attire appropriate for the style

  • Hair: Pulled back from face
